Laura Nikolaides, Research & Quality Care Program Director

Laura Nikolaides, M.S., is the Director of Research and Quality Care Programs for the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC).  Laura oversees Breast Cancer Deadline2020® program work, including the Artemis Project®, a collaborative, pilot program aimed at the development of a breast cancer vaccine.  She has represented the NBCC membership and the consumer advocate perspective in national conference plenary and panel presentations, as an ad hoc programmatic reviewer for the Department of Defense (DOD) Breast cancer Research Program (BCRP), on MSNBC, NPR, and ABC News, and currently serves on the Interagency Breast Cancer and Environmental Research Coordinating Committee.  Laura worked previously as a medical writer for the International Medical News Group and as a nutritionist for the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program.  She holds a Master of Science degree from Cornell University in Nutritional Biochemistry, and a Bachelor of Science degree from George Washington University in Environmental Studies and Biology.  Laura was diagnosed with locally advanced breast cancer in 2007. She resides in Mason, Ohio with her husband and three children.
