Immediate Action Needed to Protect our Health Care

We have just learned that Republican leaders are working on a health care deal to move in the House next week! The proposed changes to the harmful House repeal bill only makes a bad bill worse. We need you to act now.

Congress continues to be in recess for the next two days. It is critical for advocates to contact their Representatives and speak out to save the Affordable Care Act (ACA)! We need to send a strong message while members are in their home districts: Oppose any bill that will increase the number of uninsured, decrease federal protections for people with pre-existing conditions and cut Medicaid! Do not take away our care. Stop trying to repeal the ACA!

Background:  The outstanding advocacy by individuals and organizations across the country successfully forced House Republicans to pull their bill, the American Health Care Act (AHCA), because they did not have the votes to pass it. Now they are working on a modified repeal bill that’s even worse and they want to bring it to the floor for a vote very soon.

We need to send a message to Republicans that repeal has been rejected and it’s now time to give up on efforts to repeal the ACA.

Actions Needed: We need our advocates calling their Republican member offices over the next several days (today, Friday and Monday) to deliver the following message: I am calling to urge Representative _______ do not take away our health care. Oppose any bill that will increase the number of uninsured, decrease federal protections for people with pre-existing conditions and cut Medicaid. Stop trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Lives depend on it and we are watching. Click here to find your Representative. Continue making calls through April 24th.

Check https://townhallproject.com/ to find out if Representatives are holding any events near you. Attend and ask them to make the above pledge.

Tweet at your member of Congress and tell them to stop trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act and #ProtectOurCare.

Finally, we need you to continue to share your ACA stories that speak to how the ACA is making a difference to those diagnosed with breast cancer.

Tell Republicans to end their efforts to repeal the ACA! People across this country have said NO to their plan to rip away health coverage from millions of people and raise health care costs for millions more. It’s time to move on.

As always, thank you for your advocacy!
