Urgent Action Alert: Say No to the AHCA

TELL REPRESENTATIVES VOTE NO ON AHCA!

We need your immediate action to defeat the American Health Care Act (AHCA)! The House of Representatives will be voting today—as early as 2:00PM—to repeal key parts of the Affordable Care Act and to decimate the Medicaid program.

The AHCA is Bad Policy

  • The AHCA is a bad bill that keeps getting worse.
  • At a time when Americans are concerned about health care being too expensive, it raises premiums 20 percent, charges people over 50 five times more than younger enrollees and increases out-of-pocket costs and deductibles, while leaving 24 million more people uninsured.
  • The changes made yesterday to Essential Health Benefits makes coverage worse for almost everybody.
    • It effectively eliminates annual out-of-pocket caps and reinstates annual and lifetime coverage limits, hurting those with the most serious illnesses, like breast cancer.
    • And it guts protections for preexisting conditions, because most insurance policies won't include coverage for essential health benefits, the result would be soaring costs for those who need them.
  • Medicaid cuts and changes to health insurance rules will dramatically limit access to mental health and opioid use disorder treatment, even with a last-minute infusion of laughably inadequate funding in the bill.

IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDED:  Call the Representatives listed below and tell them: Vote NO on AHCA! Women and men with and at risk of breast cancer lives depend on it!

If you are a constituent, tell your member you want her/him to publicly say they are voting no!

The list below identifies the key targets and members that need to be flooded with this message NOW.

This is all hands on deck time. We need everyone acting now!  Thank you!
