Date: May 6, 2013 | Run Time: 6:07 | Course Level: Beginner

This politics plenary will focus specifically on the continuing rise of women in leadership in Congress, the Executive Branch and the international community. What can we learn from these leaders and how can NBCC advocates apply these lessons to our own work? Beth Emery is a breast cancer survivor and a partner in the national law firm, Husch Blackwell, LLP. She has been an advocate and active volunteer with the Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation (ABCF) and NBCC.

You will learn:

  • The success of advocate lobbying efforts in influencing legislature to improve the healthcare experiences of patients across the nation.
  • The value of persistence and dedication in interacting with Congressmen to emphasize the mission of the National Breast Cancer Coalition.
