Our mission is to end breast cancer by January 1, 2020. Our actions show that these are not just words. We intend to achieve that mission. Guided by three primary goals—research, access and influence—NBCC has been a powerful voice for women and men across the country since its inception. In September 2010, we launched our most ambitious initiative yet, Breast Cancer Deadline 2020®. With less than a decade to accomplish this goal, we have a plan of action to achieve Breast Cancer Deadline 2020®.
NBCC promotes research into the cause of, and optimal preventive and treatment interventions for, breast cancer through increased federal funding, fostering innovative and collaborative approaches, and improved accountability. NBCC improves access to quality breast cancer care for all women, from screening through diagnosis, treatment and care, particularly for the underserved and uninsured, through legislation and change in systems of delivery of health care.
NBCC educates and empowers women and men as advocates, increasing the involvement and influence of those living with breast cancer and other breast cancer activists wherever and whenever breast cancer decisions are made.
